Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

We like mash-ups and graphic novels here at THSS English. We also think rather highly of the artistry involved in making motion pictures. And of Tim Burton. And 3D films (despite what others may think-a 3D flick can be a fun night out.) So we’re a little excited about this trailer.

Due date? Hilarious.

A cynical take on THSS? Or is it satirical? Regardless, I don’t know why it should take 30 minutes to explain THSS to someone. The theme seems to be: At others schools one spends the day bored and disengaged in a class room while at THSS, one can choose one’s place of lethargy.

By the way, English Student, this is a great example of visual representations to effectively communicate ideas and opinions.

Annie Clark

Annie Clark

You wouldn’t expect it by looking at her and her guitar, but like Annie Clark, this lady can rip. And she has great songs of depth about humanity. But why is she number three? Easy. Her confidence in who she is as an artist and person. Unpretentious, she connected with the audience as a genuinely pleasant person willing to give the audience what they wanted: rock music!

Canada’s Commodity Economy

Relatively speaking Canada has enjoy economic good times these last few years when we are compared to the USA and Europe, in large part due to the geographic luck of having in demand commodities, commodities like copper, gold, and oil as well as having a regulated banking sector.

Recently, a large US commodity trader, MF Global went “belly up”. What follows is an explanation of the How and the Why and the bigger problems facing Americans. Since they are our major trading partner, there will also be consequences for Canadians.

Annie Clark/St. Vincent.

She was awesome musically i.e., she rocked, but also very professional as she faced frustrating technical problems. Video below.

Some thoughts about… love…

I don’t know how to say it but… Should love be celebrated? Should we give our beloved ones presents to show them our empathy?

…gift-giving is also an act of altruism — unselfish concern for the well-being of others. When we give without expecting anything in return, we are improving our psychological health.

This quote is from this article I recently found while I was looking for presents online (by the way I stuck on this one and I like it www.giftideasforwomen.ca. I think I agree with it – I do improve my “psychological health” when I make someone happy.

Films about Beslan Archive

Cyrano de Bergeraccyrando

“A great nose is the banner of a great man, a generous heart, a towering spirit, an expansive soul…”

Steve Martin plays C.D. Bales (get it?) as he tries to win the heart of Roxanne, played by Darryl Hanna.
